HIV Support in Uganda

Living with HIV can be heavy, especially at the start, or when money is tight, orwhen you are tired of explaining yourself. Whatever you are facing, there are people in ournetworks who have been there and want to help.

The SALT helpline (Supporting, Appreciating, Learning andTransferring) offers free counselling and peer support for people living with HIV and theirfamilies.

Join a peer support group

Peer groups are led by people living with HIV: expert clients, mentor mothers, youth and women’s networks. You can share what is goingon, ask questions and learn from others who understand it from the inside.

Staying on treatment

If you have missed a clinic visit or a refill, or you arefinding it hard to get to the pharmacy, say so. Contact your health facility, or call ourhelpline and a peer can talk it through with you. You will not be judged for asking.

For young people living with HIV

Young people carry more stigma thanmost, and often feel it alone. The Network of Young People Living with HIV and our youthleaders run mentorship and support. Reach out and we will connect you.
